Passport/Visa Requirements
Generally, a foreign citizens who wishes to enter Thailand is required to obtain a visa from a Royal Thai Embassy or a Royal Thai Consulate-General and hold a passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months.
However, there are nationals of countries which are exempted from visa requirement for tourism purposes, they are 48 countries: America, Australia, New Zealand and most countries of Europe as well as a special administrative region - Hong Kong SAR. Passport holders of these countries can stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 30 days for each entrance.
Besides, nationals of countries which hold bilateral agreements with Thailand are also exempted from visa requirement: they are Malaysia,The Philippines, Singapore, Republic of Korea and Tunisia.
Visa On Arrival
Nationals of certain countries can apply for visa upon arrival in Thailand at the immigration checkpoints for the purpose of tourism, they are Bhutan, China, India, Maldives and other 28 countries and territories. Passport holders of these countries can stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 15 days after they obtain the visa upon arrival.

Validity and Period of Stay
The validity of a visa is 3 months or 6 months, which means your visa will be invalid after 3 months or 6 months from the day it is issued. And travelers are permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 60 days.
